Alibaba renamed the Tongyi app to Qianwen in November 2025 and has since consolidated its AI branding under the single Qwen name. On our check of 2 August 2026, tongyi.aliyun.com serves Alibaba's Tongyi Lab model platform rather than a chat interface, and its try-it buttons hand off to the consumer assistant at qianwen.com. The underlying Qwen models are very much alive; only the Tongyi Qianwen product name is retired. This review is kept for reference and describes the product as it stood under that brand.
