What is Framer AI?
Framer AI is the AI layer of Framer, a visual website builder aimed at designers and teams. Since Framer 3.0 launched on June 16, 2026, it runs as Agents. You describe a site, page or change in plain language, and the agent creates editable pages, sections, copy and visuals in your project; you keep refining in the chat or take over on the canvas at any point. Agents also handle breakpoints, effects, custom code components, CMS collections and SEO metadata, and can audit a site for broken links, accessibility issues and inconsistent styling. You pick the model per task (Framer lists GPT, Sonnet, Opus and Fable), and the work spends AI credits from your plan's allowance. External Agents, a preview feature, connects Claude Code, Cursor, Codex and similar tools over MCP without drawing on Framer credits. Around the AI sits the rest of Framer: the canvas, a CMS, built-in SEO, analytics, CDN hosting, live collaboration and, on Pro, staging and branching. Framer sells a Site plan for each site and bills editor seats separately.
What is Wix AI?
Wix AI is our name for the AI built into Wix's website platform. Its center is now Wix Harmony, which Wix announced on January 21, 2026 as its new flagship AI website builder. You describe your business or the site you want, the AI generates a complete site, and you refine it with Aria, the AI agent inside the Harmony editor, or by hand with drag and drop. Aria can generate pages, sections, text, images and custom components, and Wix names more agents, including Kleo for marketing and SEO and Juno for customer service. Chatting with Aria uses no AI credits, while Kleo, the Marketing Agent, spends AI credits included with Premium plans (the free plan gets 30 a day, up to 120 a month). Around the site sit Wix's business tools: stores and payments, scheduling, blogs, a CRM, email marketing and an SEO Assistant. Harmony sites are automatically responsive and hosted on Wix's multi-cloud infrastructure. Two limits matter for technical buyers: Harmony does not support custom site code (HTML, JavaScript and CSS snippets are allowed), and a Harmony site cannot later move to the Wix Editor or Wix Studio, the separate platform Wix points to for coded projects.

Premium plans, in US dollars per month billed yearly, are Light at $17 (custom domain, Wix branding removed, 2 GB of storage, 2 site collaborators), Core at $29 (accept payments, basic eCommerce, scheduling, 50 GB, 5 collaborators), Business at $39 (standard eCommerce, 100 GB, 10 collaborators) and Business Elite at $159 (advanced eCommerce, unlimited storage, 100 collaborators). Wix says its displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions paid in full at the time of purchase, and that other subscription periods are available. Most yearly plans include a one-year domain voucher, and premium plans have a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Entry plans. Framer Basic ($10/month billed yearly) and Wix Light ($17/month billed yearly) each put one site on your own domain without the builder's branding. Basic adds 1,000 AI credits a month; Wix says a Light plan cannot accept payments, so selling starts on Core at $29/month.
Worked example. A three-person team (one owner, two editors) running one site, billed yearly: Framer Pro costs $360 for the site ($30 × 12) plus $480 for two editor seats ($20 × 2 × 12), so $840 a year, or $600 on Basic. Wix Core costs $348 a year ($29 × 12) with up to five site collaborators included. For a solo builder the order flips: Framer Basic is $120 a year against $204 for Wix Light. Both vendors add tax at checkout.

Can I move a Wix site to Framer?
Not by exporting it: Wix says a Wix site must run on Wix's servers and cannot use another host. You rebuild it in Framer, where Agents can generate designs from screenshots and import content such as CSV or JSON files into the CMS. A domain bought from Wix can then point to the new site through its DNS records.
