What is Manus AI?

Manus AI is an autonomous AI agent platform built by Butterfly Effect (the team behind Monica). Unlike traditional chatbots that only respond to prompts, Manus autonomously plans, breaks down complex tasks into sub-steps, executes each step using specialized AI sub-agents, and delivers finished work, from deep research reports to slide decks, website prototypes, and browser-based automations. It uses a multi-agent system that coordinates specialized sub-agents for browsing, coding, data analysis, and file management, all running in the cloud so tasks continue even when you close the browser. The credit-based pricing means costs vary by task complexity.

Manus AI Pricing

Manus sells three plans: Free, Pro and Team. The old Basic and Plus tiers were folded into Pro.

Free, $0/month: 300 credits that refresh every day, plus 1,000 one-off credits when you register. One concurrent task and two scheduled tasks. In Agent Mode you only get Manus 1.6 Lite; Chat Mode is included.

Pro, from $20/month: from 4,000 credits a month, 20 concurrent and 20 scheduled tasks, and Agent Mode access to Manus 1.6 Max, Manus 1.6 and Manus 1.6 Lite. Adds advanced research, website deployment, slide generation, Wide Research and early access to beta features. Annual billing takes 17% off.

Pro, from $40/month: the same feature set with from 8,000 credits a month. This is the tier Manus attaches a 7-day free trial to.

Higher Pro tiers: Pro is a ladder of monthly credit tiers, and Manus prices the ones above $40 only inside its JavaScript pricing page, which we could not read. Once you are on the top credit tier you can buy add-on credit packs, and those stop working the moment the paid subscription lapses.

Team, from $20 per seat/month: everything in Pro plus a credit pool shared across the team, SSO, data training opt-out, usage analytics, internal access control and shared slide templates. Seats can be added or removed and the bill adjusts at the next cycle. Annual billing takes 17% off.
