TL;DR
folk is a relationship-first CRM with AI Assistants, Magic Fields auto-population, and the folkX LinkedIn capture extension. Pricing: Standard $24/user annual ($30 monthly), Premium $48/user annual ($60 monthly), Custom from $80/user annual. No free plan but the 14-day trial defaults to Premium. Best for: founders, agencies, VC firms, small revenue teams. Score: 4.4/5 — the standout pick if you want a CRM you'll actually use.

CRMs have a usage problem. Founders pay for HubSpot or Salesforce, set up pipelines on Day 1, and stop opening the dashboard by Day 30. folk takes a different path — design the CRM around the relationships founders actually maintain, lean hard on AI for data entry, and accept that some enterprise sales features will live in another tool. We tested folk against the workflows real founders use and found a CRM that actually gets opened daily.

What folk actually does
folk is a relationship-first CRM aimed at founders, agencies, VCs, and small revenue teams. The platform pairs pipeline management and email campaigns with AI features that genuinely save time: Magic Fields auto-populate contact data from public signals, AI Assistants help draft outreach, and the folkX Chrome extension captures LinkedIn profiles into your workspace with one click. Native sync with email, calendar, and WhatsApp keeps conversations attached to contacts, and 5,000+ Zapier and Make integrations cover everything else.
The product philosophy is "design for daily use over enterprise depth." folk doesn't try to compete with HubSpot or Salesforce on territory management, multi-touch attribution, or marketing-automation depth. It tries to be the CRM founders open every morning. In our hands-on the difference shows up in three places: setup time (under an hour vs. a week or more for HubSpot), folkX-driven contact capture (one click vs. manual data entry), and Magic Fields enrichment (no separate Clearbit-style tool needed).
Pricing — verified May 2026
folk has three paid tiers and no free plan. Per user, per month: Standard is $30 monthly or $24 annual; Premium is $60 monthly or $48 annual (exactly 2x Standard); Custom is from $100 monthly or $80 annual with a sales conversation required. The 14-day free trial defaults to Premium features regardless of which plan you ultimately select, which is unusually buyer-friendly — most CRMs gate trials to the lowest tier.
Standard includes pipeline management, email campaigns up to 2,000 sends per user/month, the folkX Chrome extension, email/calendar/WhatsApp sync, contact enrichment, AI Assistants, Magic Fields, and 5,000+ Zapier and Make integrations. Premium adds custom objects with deal management, email sequences (multi-step automated follow-ups), dashboards, API access, advanced roles and permissions, and higher credit limits.
What we liked
folkX + Magic Fields is the killer combo. Capture a LinkedIn profile with one click, and Magic Fields populates the contact record with role, company, location, and other public signals. This is the single workflow that justifies the subscription for most folk users — it removes the manual data-entry tax that gets CRMs abandoned.
Setup is under an hour. First contact imported, pipelines configured, email sync running — done. Compare to HubSpot, where a real implementation can take a week, and the value of "actually used" becomes obvious.
14-day Premium trial removes guesswork. You evaluate on the full feature set rather than a stripped-down trial. By day 14 you know whether you need Premium, can downgrade to Standard, or can walk away.
Per-user pricing is competitive. $24/user annual at Standard is in the same range as Pipedrive Essential and well below HubSpot Sales Pro. For a 5-person team the math works at $1,440/year.
Native WhatsApp sync. A small but rare feature in CRMs at this price point, and increasingly important for international founders who run sales conversations on WhatsApp.
What we didn't like
No free plan. HubSpot offers a free CRM tier, and many founders default to it on that basis alone. folk's 14-day trial is generous, but "free forever" wins more bake-offs than it should.
Sales must-haves gate at Premium. Email sequences, dashboards, API access, and custom objects all sit behind the Premium tier. If you bought Standard expecting to add sequences later, you're paying twice as much per seat.
Less depth than enterprise CRMs. Forecasting, territory management, and deep marketing automation aren't folk's strengths. As soon as your sales org grows past ~10 reps, you'll likely outgrow it.
Custom plan requires a sales call. The from-$80 annual quote is fair, but the gate to know exactly what you'll pay is friction.
folk vs alternatives
The most common alternative is HubSpot. Pick HubSpot if you need full-stack CRM and marketing automation at scale. Pick folk if you want a CRM that gets used daily without weeks of setup. monday.com is a strong choice if you want CRM and project ops in one workspace. Clay is the better pick if AI-powered enrichment and prospecting are the central use case rather than relationship tracking. See the full list on the folk CRM alternatives page.
Who should buy folk?
folk is the right pick for founders, agencies, VCs, and small revenue teams who want a CRM that gets used daily — not a system that requires a Salesforce admin to maintain. The combination of folkX + Magic Fields is the most time-saving contact-capture workflow we have used in this category, and the under-an-hour setup means folk gets adopted instead of abandoned.
It's not the right pick for mid-market or enterprise sales orgs needing forecasting, territory management, and deep marketing automation. Those teams should default to HubSpot or Salesforce. It's also not ideal if a free plan is a must-have — HubSpot's free CRM is the alternative there.

How much does folk CRM cost?
Per user, per month: Standard $30 monthly or $24 annual; Premium $60 monthly or $48 annual; Custom from $100 monthly or $80 annual.
folk vs HubSpot — which should I choose?
HubSpot for full-stack CRM and marketing depth at scale. folk for a CRM that gets used daily without weeks of setup. Both have their place; the answer depends on whether your bottleneck is platform depth or CRM adoption.
